ADDING AN AVATAR TO YOUR BLOG

Avatars are better than photos as they protect you own image.
You can add an image, an avatar to the top corner of your blog page.
We would prefer you did not add a photo of yourself
For safety it is better to add an avatar. This does not need to be a likeness of you. You can create any avatar image that you like.  "Dopple Me" Is A Site That Lets You Do This. You Do Not Need To Sign In.


TASK 1:


PART 1:  Creating the Avatar

1. Visit  http://www.doppelme.com
   
2. Click On The "Create" Tab
   
3. Follow The Wizard Through selecting Hair, Eye wear etc. 
   
4. When You Are Finished Click ON the "I'm Done" Button
   
5. Don't fill in any of the information you are asked for
   
6. Use Your mouse To Right Click on the Avatar you have created
   
7. Select Save Image As
   
8. Choose the Folder you will save it into - My Pictures?
   
9. Give it a file name that will help you remember what your image is.
   
10. Make sure you save the file as a GIF.  Not sure how? See me. 

 Remember others may call their Avatar so not a good filename to use. 

PART 2: Adding Your Avatar To Your Blog Page

1. Log Into Your Classblogmeister page
   
2. Click on the Control Panel Button
   
3. Toward the bottom of this window, click on the Choose File button
   
4. Locate the Avatar File That You Saved In PART 1 and click OPEN
   
5. Click Upload
   
6. When you see Pending in red beside the image you will know that the avatar just needs to be approved by your teacher. It will appear on your blog when this has been done.
